Welcome to the Data Profiler Invoker 4.2 release. This document contains the most up-to-date information about the software and may supersede that in the product documentation. It covers the following topics:
Installation Notes for Windows and Linux
This section covers component installation on Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
Installing the Component Files and Documentation
The component that you have downloaded requires manual installation. The download consists of one .zip file containing the component files.
Installing on Windows
To install the invoker
- Copy the component archive DataProfiler.zip to the appropriate folder:
- 8.14 on Windows XPInstallDir\Cosmos\Common800\Plug-Ins
- 9.0 on Windows XPC:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Pervasive\Cosmos9\Common\Plug-Ins
- 9.0 on Windows VistaC:\Users\ProgData\Pervasive\Cosmos9\Common\Plug-Ins
- Start Process Designer.
The first time that you run Process Designer, it unpacks the archive and the component becomes available for use.
Installing on Linux
To Install from a Downloaded .Zip File
- Log on to the machine as a root user.
- Unzip the DataProfiler.zip file to the directory:
opt/PervasiveSoftware/IntegrationEngine<version>/Plug-Ins
For version, use the value from the .zip file name.
A DataProfiler directory containing the Invoker files is copied to the Plug-Ins directory.
Version 4.0 Users
If you have used Data Profiler Invoker in 4.0, refer to the table below to determine version compatibility between 4.0 and 4.2.

The Data Profiler 4.2 Invoker is the first version available for Linux. You can run processes that call 4.2 profiles.

Features and Enhancements
The release of Data Profiler Invoker 4.2 includes new features and documentation.
With the Macro Substitution option in an Invoker step, you can:
- Dynamically overwrite a file name with the Use Input Message parameter.
- Specify one or more macro definition files with the Use MacroDefinitionFile parameter.

Known Issues
This section lists the most noteworthy known issues for Data Profiler Invoker as of the release date. If you encounter an issue not found here, contact Pervasive Support.
