Welcome to Integration Architect release 8.10.0. This document contains the most up-to-date information on the software and supersedes the information contained in the product documentation. It contains the following sections:
The 8.10.0 release delivers a number of improvements to the functionality of the previous release. Product packages (such as Data Integrator and Business Integrator) are product/feature subsets of the Integration Architect platform.
The license you purchase determines the features you can use. However, you may find documentation for features you have not purchased and cannot use.

This release has been tested in a variety of configurations. For detailed installation instructions, see the Getting Started Guide located in InstallDir\Common800\Help.
This section covers topics of interest when installing Integration Architect on a Microsoft Windows operating system.
You must have administrator rights to install Integration Architect.
You need Internet Explorer 4.01 SP2 or later to install the product. You also need Internet Explorer to view the online documentation.
To determine the version of Internet Explorer, do the following:
For maximum performance, ensure that your computer has physical memory to meet the requirements of the local system and all applications.
Windows 95/98/ME/NT are not supported in this product version. Technical Support is not provided for these operating systems.
JDK 1.4.2 is required. JDK 1.5 is not supported.
The Sun Java Virtual Machine (JVM) runtime engine must be present to support URI functionality in certain Map Designer Connectors. If the JVM engine is not installed, you will receive an error message: Unable to load Java virtual machine. Version 1.4.2 or higher is required.
See http://java.sun.com to download the JVM.
If you have a dual video card, then you must disable all title bar settings on the video card to run Integration Architect.
The components Web Service Invoker and XML Mapper Transformer are provided with this release as separate items that require manual installation.
The first time you run Process Designer, the component archive is automatically unpacked and the components are available for use.
Note: The ability to run an installed component depends on your particular licensing agreement.
Integration Architect release 8.10.0 provides improvements made in the following areas:
WebRowSet is a connector that can be used by the transformation engine in Integration Architect to produce and consume messages in WebRowSet format. This connector will be used on the client side of the integration to produce Update requests and to consume the results from Query requests
Transforms an XML document into another XML document using XML schemas (.XSD) as its source and target files.
Provides a generic method to invoke a specific web service from within a process. For example, you can design and run business processes that accesses partner web services. This facilitates complete business integration involving bidirectional, seamless data exchange between applications.
Extracts content from an XML source document and iterates over the extracted result set. Supports dynamic specification of source and queries.
Extracts content from an XML source document. Supports dynamic specification of source, queries, and targets.
Facilitates exchange of messages between different applications using standard email protocols, namely SMTP, POP3, and IMAP. Supports sending and receiving text and binary attachments.
Note on Fresh Install (Version 8.10.0)
If you want to run an 8.8.1 process (containing the POP3 component) in an 8.10.0 environment, then you must do the following:
Supports Schematron-based validation.
Iterates through the rowsets returned as the result of a SQL SELECT statement and returns the rowsets as WebRowSet XML data.
Connects to a target database and transmits the WebRowSet XML data to the database.
Uses message properties to store MSMQ message properties.
Iterates over EDI X12 transaction sets.
Invokes the Data Profiler engine.
Separated the documentation from product for rebranding purposes.

Note Integration Architect installs Java on your computer if you do not have it installed.
