Welcome to Integration Architect release 8.14.0. This document contains the most up-to-date information about the software and may supersede that in the product documentation. It covers the following topics:
The 8.14.0 release delivers a number of improvements over the previous release. Product packages such as Data Integrator and Business Integrator are feature sets. Your license determines the features you can use. However, you may find documentation for features that you have not purchased.
The file InstallDir\Common800\Help\contact.htm contains the following information.
This contact information is also found in the online help under About Help and Support.
This release has been tested in a variety of hardware and software configurations. For installation instructions, see the Getting Started Guide in InstallDir\Common800\Help.
This topic covers installation on a Microsoft Windows operating system.
Installation requires administrator rights.
Integration Architect uses a license file with an .slc file extension, which determines the features you can use. Your Pervasive sales representative provides you with this file. To gain access to more features, contact your sales representative.
For best performance, your computer needs physical memory to meet the requirements of the operating system and all applications.
The installer checks your system for a JRE version 1.4 or higher. Java 1.4.2_11 and 1.5.0_06 have been used in testing this release.
If you have a dual video card, disable all title bar settings on the card before running Integration Architect.
The Integration Architect installer automatically registers Microsoft CRM .dll files for the following .NET Framework versions:
To verify these versions, select the Microsoft CRM entry in Add/Remove Programs or look in C:/Windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework.
If you have .NET Framework versions other than one of the versions listed above, you must register the Microsoft CRM .dll files manually using the following steps:
regasm.exe DjMsCrmComObj.dll /tlb /codebase
regasm.exe DjMsCrmComObj3.dll /tlb /codebase
This release of Integration Architect provides improvements made in the following areas:
This release includes more than 500 enhancements and fixes.
Three new connectors are provided.
Supports double-byte binary data with a schema definition, such as EBCDIC with a COBOL copybook. Identical to the Binary connector except that it has an encoding instead of a codepage property. Unicode is not supported by this connector.
Supports all features and entities supported by the Oracle Siebel CRM On Demand 10 connector, as well as the User, Contact, Campaign, and Opportunity entities as described in Siebel Web Services OnDemand Guide, version 6.
Supports all features supported by the Salesforce.com 7.0 connector, as well as session tokens, upsert with relationships, joins, and a sandbox testing property.
Map Designer has several new user interface features:
Reduces design time by allowing you simply to set the source and then choose an automatic run-time mapping option for the target:
Provides a means to keep a .map.xml file in memory between steps that use the same invoker. The process can change source or target connection information and then call the invoker again without having to reload the map. Also, a new simplified map file provides an additional option to replace or add mapped fields at run time.
Connects to a target database, runs a specified stored procedure, and returns data in XML format. This invoker also enables the transformation to capture multiple record sets and multiple output parameters.
This release increases support for Unicode:
During Integration Engine installation on Unix and Linux systems, previous releases created directories and files with weaker file access security than what is commonly considered best practice. This release strengthens Unix security by defining a Pervasive-specific pvsw group identifier (GID) at installation time and using it to create installed directories and files. This GID is also used as the run-time GID of the djengine executable and is applied to all new files created during Integration Engine operation.
The following user documentation has been added or substantially revised for this release:
In addition, the documentation for this release is available for reading online at http://www.pervasive.com/library.
The following information describes a known issue in the current release:
Issue: The Dynamic Map invoker has the ability to keep a map loaded in memory between successive invoker steps that use the same invoker. This allows the source or target connection information to be changed without having to reload the map.
In the current implementation of the component, the map from the first step remains loaded even if the second step specifies a different map. The map in the second step is ignored, but the connection strings from the second step are used. If the connector types in the second step differ from the connector types of the first step, the second step may generate an error and the map may not execute correctly, depending on the compatibility of the different connector types.
Workaround: To force the process to reload the map in the second step, add a step between the first and second steps that executes a reset action.
This release has been tested on the following systems and platforms:
Technical support is provided only for these systems and platforms.
This section provides information regarding the documentation included with the Integration Architect products.
Documentation is provided in three different formats:
On Windows platforms, PDF and HTML help files are installed with the product.
JavaHelp is installed for Repository Manager.
