Welcome to the Data Profiler Invoker 4.0 release. This document contains the most up-to-date information about the software and may supersede that in the product documentation. It covers the following topics:

Installation Notes

This release has been tested in a variety of hardware and software configurations. Note that once you install Data Profiler Invoker 4.0, Data Profiler Invoker 1.0 is no longer available. Be prepared to update any existing processes that use Data Profiler 1.0 Invoker.

This topic covers installation on a Microsoft Windows operating system.

The component provided with this release requires manual installation. This component download consists of two .zip files. One .zip file contains the component and the other contains documentation and sample files.

Installing Component Documentation and Sample Tutorial Files

New components come with documentation, while upgrades to existing components may or may not need new help files.

To install the documentation

  1. Unzip DPInvokerDocs.zip.
  2. Copy the PDF into the Help directory. The full path to the Help directory is InstallDir\Cosmos\Common800\Help.

To install the sample tutorial files

  1. Create a folder in InstallDir\Cosmos\Common800\Samples called DataProfilerInvoker4.
  2. Copy the sample files, DPInvoker_Tutor.asc and DPInvoker_Tutor.jar, into the DataProfilerInvoker4 folder. The full path is InstallDir\Cosmos\Common800\Samples\DataProfilerInvoker4.

Installing the Component

To install the invoker

  1. From the install download, copy DataProfiler.zip into the Plug-ins directory. The full path to the Plug-ins directory is InstallDir\Cosmos\Common800\Plug-Ins.
  2. Start Process Designer. The first time you run Process Designer, the component archive is automatically unpacked and the component becomes available for use.
  3. Note  The ability to run an installed component depends on your particular product package and license agreement.

The Data Profiler Invoker User’s Guide has been substantially revised for this release.

Known Issues

The following information describes a known issue in the current release:

Issue: If you leave the Results Folder value empty, the process aborts.

Workaround: Always specify a Results Folder path.
