About Java Class Library

Java Class Library (JCL) is a set of classes that allow access to Btrieve data.

JCL contains new and changed functionality for Pervasive PSQL v10.10. See What’s New in Pervasive PSQL for details.

System Requirements

Existing install of Pervasive PSQL v10.10 database engine if you want to use the new features available in Pervasive PSQL v10.10.

Getting Started

The runtime files for the JCL access method are installed by default with Pervasive PSQL Server, Pervasive PSQL Workgroup, and Pervasive PSQL Client.

The header files and sample files are available via Web download: http://www.pervasive.com/developerzone/access_methods/jcl.asp.

Samples for Java Class Library

The following samples for the Java Class Library are provided:

helloworld - simple sample demonstrating connection to the DEMODATA database provided with Pervasive PSQL. You can pass a URI parameter if security is enabled on your machine.

join - demonstrates SQL joins

serialization - demonstrates how to serialize Java objects.

pvideo - this sample simulates the management of a video store. A separate Pvideo database is provided if you wish to run this sample.
