Pervasive.SQL Business Solution
The Werbas' latest workgroup solutions use the client/server database, Pervasive.SQL 2000i. "Since our customers frequently deploy piecemeal hardware and software, it is very important for the database to be flexible," explains Volker Noseck. Accordingly, Pervasive.SQL delivers support for Windows, Novell NetWare and Linux, and is backward compatible with Btrieve applications on all supported platforms. And since Werbas' applications are just as flexible, customers can run a powerful industry solution without having to immediately invest in new database updates.

The Pervasive.SQL 2000i database engine increases the speed at which customers can access data by up to 10 times, allowing them to exploit the full potential of using hardware with the fastest processors. A self-tuning engine ensures that the database runs virtually maintenance-free.

In addition, Pervasive delivers a software development kit that equips Werbas developers with all the tools they need for the job, such as ActiveX components, Java class libraries, Borland Database Engine (BDE) replacements for Delphi and C++Builder developments, as well as a pure Java JDBC driver. Thus, the data-management system is as attractive to Werbas developers as it is to their customers.

Werbas AG has now implemented its software solutions over 10,000 times for more than 7,000 users and has sold more than 3,500 licenses for the latest Pervasive.SQL 2000i database. Automotive industry experts look forward to the rewards that the close partnership will reap in the future.

Since 1999, the project team in Boeblingen has completed a beta version of Werbas.web - this application also comes with the Pervasive.SQL 2000i data-management system and can be used locally as well as in a network or via the Internet.
