Successful applicants will work with the engineering, product management, product architects and documentation teams to ensure the product requirements and designs are translated into relevant test cases. In this role you will: Define, implement and maintain efficient test environments, procedures and processes; develop, document, execute and maintain test plans for multiple versions of product releases; identify and report root causes for software defects. Additional responsibilities:

• Develop and document test strategies and matrices
• Complete test/automation assignments according to project scope and schedule.
• Test products on supported platforms (Win32, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, Linux)
• Utilize defect-tracking system.
• Provide test coverage and test results metrics.

Required Experience and Education: Strong knowledge of the following Quality Assurance standards and practices:

• Run time and design time automation.
• Identify and evaluate test criteria for all supported methods of testing (GUI, performance, stress, load, negative, regression, etc.).
• Test case/script development, execution and maintenance.
• Black box testing, white box testing.
• Technical writing/defect reporting.

Skill sets and experience/proficiency with the following technologies:

• Relational databases including Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Pervasive SQL
• A minimum of 5 years of software testing (Quality Assurance) experience of database systems, file systems, OS kernels or related systems.
• Must have tested and shipped at least 4 major version commercial software releases.

Preferred Experience and Education:

• Ability to multi-task across multiple problem domains and contexts
• Self-starter, ability to work independently and within a team
• Experience with various data types including ASCII, Binary, Cobol, EDI, EDIFACT, HIPAA, and XML.
• Ability to program in Java, Perl, and Visual Basic.
• Experience testing on various UNIX (Sun/AIX/HP/Linux) platforms.
• Experience testing on OS/390 and AS/400 platforms.
• Good process and follow through skills
