Pervasive Software’s Integration Products Group is looking for an individual to play a key role in the growth of our business by taking an entrepreneurial approach to building new partnerships in N America. The Business Development Specialist, reporting to the Director of Worldwide Marketing for Pervasive’s Integration Products, initiates and drives the building of net new partnerships with ISVs, ASPs, and BSPs that result in a flow of quality leads for the Pervasive sales teams.
The individual that fills this position will play a key role in the growth of Pervasive’s business by taking initiative and an entrepreneurial approach to the business development process.
Key functions of the position include the following:
- Identify and recruit ISV’s and ASP’s that require more efficient data integration solutions and services.
- For each Business Development Partnership, develop a business plan for creating a flow of referral business from the Partner.
- Identify and educate the Partner’s Sales, SEs, and Consulting staff and/or companies that participate in the Partner’s ecosystem.
- Identify points of entry, such as user groups and user conferences, and organize Pervasive presentations at such events.
- Identify and execute on opportunities for promoting our presence in Partners’ marketing programs and on their web site.
- Leverage Pervasive’s SE’s & PSG for partner education.
Key Metrics –
- Absolute number of Partner referrals.
- Number of qualified opportunities created from these referrals.
- Revenues from Partner referrals.
Minimum experience and education Undergraduate degree, preferably in Marketing/Business or Computer Sciences. 3+ years experience in sales or business development of business software or services.
Preferred background 5+ years in sales or business development relating to business software products and services, including channel development targeting SI’s and ISV’s. Strong grasp of databases and application development.
