CTO Mike Hoskins was named Information Technologist of the Year by the AITP Austin chapter during the InnoTech conference. Hoskins was nominated for his involvement in the development of Pervasive DataRush™, an innovative software development platform that enables Java developers to easily write massively parallel applications that automatically scale to fully exploit the power of multi-core processors. "The passion that Mike possesses for technology development is evident and the committee was intrigued by the possibilities of what Pervasive DataRush can do for mainstream Java developers in light of the multicore revolution" said Steve Guengerich, Chairman of the IT Executive of the Year award selection committee and chief learning officer for BSG Alliance Corporation. Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools

Pervasive was positioned in the Challengers Quadrant in Gartner's Data Integration Tools Magic Quadrant. Gartner introduced the Data Integration Tools Magic Quadrant as a successor to its ETL Magic Quadrant to reflect the broad range of data integration scenarios that organizations are seeking to address in a systematic, rather than fragmented, manner. According to the report, the data integration tools market comprises vendors that offer software products to enable the construction and implementation of data access and delivery infrastructure for a variety of data integration scenarios including data acquisition for BI and data warehousing, creation of integrated master data stores, data migrations/conversions, synchronization of data between operational applications, creation of federated views of data from multiple data stores, delivery of data services in a service-oriented architecture (SOA) context and unification of structured and unstructured data.

According to the Gartner report, "The ETL tools market is quickly evolving toward a market for multimode, multipurpose data integration platforms suitable for use beyond the traditional domain of business intelligence and data warehousing… The associated risks can be mitigated by seeking vendors that acknowledge this trend, have broader capabilities and product plans aligned with the data integration platform vision and have resources to deliver on it."
